Hi, I’m Annie – Annie’s Travel Mindset
I share real travel experiences, practical advice, and a more intentional way to explore the world.
My Story
Travel has been a huge part of my life for more than a decade and over time, it became about much more than simply seeing new places.
I created Annie’s Travel Mindset to share the places I’ve experienced firsthand, the lessons I’ve picked up along the way, and the practical travel advice I wish I’d had before going.
I’m not here to collect countries or rush through destinations. Whenever I can, I stay longer. I wander. I go back to the same café. I figure out the local grocery store. I watch sunsets without needing to be anywhere afterward.
Because some of my favourite travel memories were never on the itinerary in the first place.
Somewhere along the way, travel stopped being something I did and became part of how I live.
So, What Exactly Is Annie’s Travel Mindset?
It’s part travel guide, part trip-planning resource, and part reminder that you don’t have to wait for the mythical “someday” to experience more of the world.
- Honest destination guides based on real trips and firsthand experience.
- Realistic itineraries that leave room to actually enjoy where you are.
- Practical advice on tours, transportation, accommodation, budgeting, and planning.
- Personal recommendations about what I genuinely think is worth your time and money.
- Adventures ranging from mountains and road trips to scuba diving and slow mornings in beautiful places.
- A little travel mindset woven throughout it all.
Because sometimes travel teaches you something profound. And sometimes you just need to know where to park, what to book, and whether the tour is actually worth the money. I’m here for both.

Places I Know
Especially Well
Over the years, I’ve traveled through North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Some places have been quick adventures. Others became temporary homes. And some are destinations I’ve returned to again and again.

To date, I’ve spent months living and adventuring in different corners of the world, mostly as a solo female traveler. I rarely just pass through. I like to settle in, soak up the culture, and let each place teach me something.

I’m a Technical Scuba Diver.
I started scuba diving in 2017 and fell completely in love with it. What began as another way to experience a destination quickly became one of the biggest passions in my life. Since then, I’ve completed 11+ PADI certifications, including recreational, specialty, sidemount and technical diving.
Why I Dive
For me, scuba has never been about chasing bucket lists or ticking off sites. It’s about presence. It’s about stepping into a world where silence speaks louder than noise, and every breath becomes a reminder to slow down.
And maybe it also makes sense that I’m drawn here – after all, more than 70% of our planet is water, a whole world that’s barely been explored. Every dive feels like unlocking a secret, catching a glimpse of something most people will never see.
